BAK Scholarship

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

The Brandan Kalmerton Memorial Scholarship was established after a loved member of our Club, and our community was lost in a workplace accident in August of 2010. Brandan was very active within our Club and had a penchant for all things outdoors. Otter Street teamed up with the Brandan Kalmerton Memorial Fund to offer a scholarship to high school seniors looking to study Natural Resources at UW-Stevens Point. Read on for more information and to continue the application process for this year's scholarship.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Applicants must be a senior attending high school within one of the following WI school districts: Oshkosh, Winneconne, Omro, Berlin or Ripon.

The intention of the applicant must be to study within the field of Natural Resources.

You must apply by May 31st to be considered.

You will hear from our selection committee related to the status of your application. We are so excited you've chosen to apply and can't wait to learn more about you!

$1,000 USD

2.0 or better to considered for the scholarship.

We will communicate you with you in July of the same year to let you know if you've been selected. If you've been chosen as the recipient, we will do a quick honorary shout-out at our Kid's Fisheree (held the 2nd Saturday in August).

Every year, the Otter Street Fishing Club, in conjunction with The Brandan Kalmerton Memorial Fund awards two graduating seniors a $1,000 scholarship to study Natural Resources at UW-Stevens Point. The Board of Directors will decide on the recipients of these two scholarships from schools in the surrounding areas (Oshkosh, Winneconne, Berlin, Omro and Ripon).
The following criteria must be met in order to qualify for the scholarship:
• Applicant must be a senior attending high school in Oshkosh, Winneconne, Omro, Berlin or Ripon.
• Applicant plans to study Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point
• Along with completed application, two letters of recommendation are to be submitted.
The $1,000 scholarships will be given to each student upon presentation of first semester grades. The student must carry a grade point average of 2.0 or better to be eligible to receive the money. Applications must be submitted through the school and received by May 31st.. As the Recommender of the HS senior applying for the Otter Street - Brandan Kalmerton Scholarship, please complete the form in its entirity, to the best of your ability. 🚨 In addition to this form, please fill out a letter of recommendation (75 words or less) on behalf of the Applicant.
The $1,000 scholarships will be given to the chosen recipient upon presentation of first semester grades. The student must carry a grade point average of 2.0 or better to be eligible to receive the money. Applications must be submitted and received by May 31st.
